laptop about to die - motherboard and battery life declining? (Answers: 5) (Comments: 0)
So I've had my laptop for almost 3 years now. I still had the extended warranty available on it so sent it away to get it fixed because the wireless wasn't working. Whenever I wanted to use the internet I had to use the local area cable because randomly one day the wireless stopped.
After weeks of it being away, being put on hold trying to find out where my laptop was.. I finally get the call saying that my laptop is not repairable, or rather not worth repairing because the motherboard and battery are going on it. Since the cost of repairing the computer exceeded the worth of the computer I was told that I could either get a buy out, around $350 which is around my computer's worth, or get my laptop back.
I got my laptop back because I never backed up anything on my computer (pictures, important documents, etc.) So I now have my computer back and am wondering if I should go ahead with this buyout process. Is $350 enough to get another laptop? I wouldn't mind if I had to put in an extra $200-300 for a decent laptop. I'm a student so I need a computer.
