Mercedes-Benz Servicing - Maintaining Engineering Excellence

A reputation built on quality without compromise

As an experienced driver, you know the importance of keeping your Mercedes-Benz in tip-top condition. Regular servicing will extend your car's life and identify defects before they become catastrophic.

When you consider the history of the Company and how it has built a global reputation for quality, durability, performance and luxury, booking a Mercedes-Benz service that is conducted with care and precision is vitally important in retaining the characteristics of this prestige car.

Mercedes-Benz facts you may not know

Mercedes-Benz was born out of the merger in the 1926 between Daimler Motorengesellschaft and Benz and Cie. Both were competitors, originating from Southwest Germany, but tough economic conditions in the 1920s led to the merger as Daimler-Benz AG.

The Mercedes name originated from Gottlieb Daimler's company, who had a bulk order arrangement with Emil Jellinek, an Austrian dealer. The dealer decided to name the cars after his daughter, Mercedes. This, together with customised design changes, enabled him to have distribution rights to the Mercedes cars in other markets where Gottlieb Daimler had already sold the rights to the Daimler name and designs.

A history of performance and engineering excellence

Mercedes-Benz is renowned for quality and innovation and stems from Daimler's original ambition to create an engine that is small, reliable, and powerful.

The company's been synonymous with motor sport, since the early 1900s when Mercedes-Benz released its first racing car, the Simplex. In 1914, Mercedes won the French Grand Prix. Success with the Tropfenwagen in the late 1920s was followed in the 1930s with the Silver Arrows that dominated European Grand Prix racing.

In 1954, Mercedes-Benz entered Formula One racing, but exited after a crash in 1955 that killed over 70 spectators. Mercedes returned to Formula One in 1993 as an engine supplier to Sauber moving on to Mclaren in 1995. This led to a period of success from 1997, with David Coulthard in the driving seat for McLaren.

With their history of engineering excellence, together with their passion for quality, Mercedes-Benz has a reputation for making some of the best cars in the world.
